James Newell
Director - Investment Management
James is a Director of Stonehage Fleming and advises a number of families on their investment strategy and manages a number of client multi-asset mandates.
He joined the Stonehage Fleming Group from the Maitland Group, where he was responsible for Maitland's Private Client Investment Services team in South Africa. He joined Maitland in 2005 and worked in various roles in institutional asset servicing until July 2007 when he left Maitland as manager of the Business Analyst team and relocated to London. There, he worked in the finance team of an asset management firm until moving back to South Africa and re-joining Maitland in November 2009.
He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Stellenbosch.
