BEST PIECE OF ADVICE?
It’s said that most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten. I agree. For me, one of the most pivotal classes at Stanford Business School was taught by Jim Collins. His message was to “set big, hairy, audacious goals”.
Although City Harvest started small, we always wanted to become part of London’s fabric – an emergency service for businesses with surplus food that would otherwise be wasted. It was aspirational and having that vision has aided our success.
WHAT DOES BEING SELECTED FOR THE SFXV MEAN TO YOU?
I am so proud to be included in the SFXV and humbled to be part of such an impressive group of women. I believe it will provide us with a platform to inspire others to ‘think big’ and discourage them from underestimating what they can accomplish. Hopefully, ideas will flourish and give rise to new ways in which we can all make an impact together.
