In the second part of our series, Senior Client Management Associate, Lucy Goldman, in London details the resolution of a recent client problem by our Investment Management team.
A recent challenge we've helped solve for a client was
to facilitate their onboarding
and move to a new custodian in the US
and their current custodian wasn't suitable anymore
and they were facing lots of issues trying to onboard due
to the accounts being linked to multiple European trusts,
some of which were from over 40 years ago.
Um, and various different languages involved there.
This led to the documentation being unobtainable
and also when it was received, um, not legible
for the US entities.
So we utilized advice from our colleagues overseas in the US
office, and we've worked with the trust lawyers in order
to provide the custodian with a sufficient level of comfort.
And now that has led to the successful approval
and onboarding of the account.
And we have liaised
with counterparties in different time zones across the uk,
Europe, the us, on family's behalf, reducing their burden
and helping to produce a positive outcome.
And the accounts have now successfully been opened
and their assets have been transferred.
